you're talking about the character file limit; it takes awhile to get there. i believe it's in the 1000-2000 sim range. if you're worried, though, there's a mod called NoTownieRegen that might help.
Just to correct you, there isn’t actually any character file limit per say. April Black made a great video on YT talking about this :)

Yea i know about the mod i already installed it, also i found a very similar mod but for pets, i didnt play with noTownieRegen from the start so i decided to check how many townies my game genertaed and there were over 500 files... I dont think that that many townies are needed... Also as I said before i heard that if there are too many that the game starts to lag and it loads very long until bassically you cant play on that save file and not everyone knows about it and the mod so ea should really change this, maybe new computers can handle it but older ones may have a problem, so they should add an option to change the max limit or smth.
