So I bought the sims 2 double deluxe for the PC yesterday from a store and my computer won’t let the disc website through so I can play that game and to make matters worse the code has already been redeemed so I’m not able to play the game at all and I was wondering if anyone knows and activation codes I can use or even how to talk to EA in order to receive an activation code.
Sims 2, aside from Legacy Edition, is abandonware. Even Ultimate Collection, because even though it's on the app, there's no official support for it. The game has been abandonware since about 2011 to a point and definitely since 2014. That's why Legacy is such a big deal.
The Sims 2 server no longer exists, so it's not possible to connect to it. You can't register the disks, even if you somehow found codes that weren't already used, because there's nowhere to register to. The disks don't want to install properly, because they cannot connect and update. IMO any store that sells abandonware without a warning is being dishonest.
All that said, you might be able to get it to work. I didn't dig into it too far because I'm using Legacy and have Ultimate Collection if I wanted to go back to that, but if you google the issue, there are workarounds that may work for you, depending on your system.
