Purchased 25th anniversary bundle, and when trying to install The Sims Legacy & The Sims 2 Legacy games, I am receiving an error message (shown in screenshot):
"Error: The VC++ runtime redistributable package was not installed successfully. Setup cannot continue. (1618)"
Hitting OK will trigger the installation to restart and eventually just loops back to this same error message.
I'm having this exact same issue. All the files are showing as installed on my C drive but I can't actually run them because the installation didn't complete the last few percent; it came up with this error message.
I am also having this exact same issue. Getting help from the live chat has been so difficult and ultimately has been so unhelpful and I've tried having geek squad look into it and they have come up with nothing. Tried every suggestion online. I cant' even uninstall the other versions of VC++ and tried downloading the others and no change! I just want to play my game :(
