I'm having a similar issue. Had one sim in the university dorms and played all the way until she graduated, threw a graduation party, got the cutscene where she grows up. It then asked if I wanted to move her out and I hit yes, the taxi came, she got in, then just teleported to be standing outside the dorm but I couldn't control her or do anything. Went back to the neighborhood (couldn't save), tried to go back into the dorm where it said she was and got stuck on an infinite loading screen. Had to force quit. When I booted the game back up she was nowhere to be found. Not in the dorms or the bin. Not even in the bin of the original neighborhood. ☹️
No mods or CC installed. I would really like to get her back, I spent a lot of time making her and she even graduated with honors 🙃
Might be worth noting that before she got in the taxi, I went into buy mode and sold all the things I decorated her dorm room with. Could have messed it up (but it really shouldn't!)
Oh no! That sounds so much worse but also a similar problem.
I wonder if there's a way to do a save as and back up the saves so if this happens again we don't lose all progress!
So frustrating.
