Please note....
The page numbers in this post no longer represent the actual pages on which you'll find the builds. This is because the number of posts per page changed with the new forum and the page numbers written here are for the old Sims 3 forum.

Also note people are still continuing to post new builds in this thread so don't assume it all ended with the end of the list of builds in this post. There are a lot more to be found and please add your builds when you have something you'd like to show us.

The other problem with the list of builds in this thread is the amount of text that can be saved into a post is less than it was previously so the list can't be extended beyond a certain point.

Another problem is a lot of pictures didn't get transferred across from the old forum. I went through and fixed all of my pictures (I hope) but not everyone was able to do that. I found the problem with my posts was the extra text I added to change the picture size.

Since the new Amore set has canal pieces that will allow us to build carnival lots with boats - I thought it only logical to add builds contain objects from the set in this thread too.

NOTE: You an use any part of any of the three sets/venues to have your build fit happily into this thread.

With the release of the Carousel, I thought it would be fun to add builds of lots that are for roller coasters and carousels. So I have changed the name of the thread to be for Carnival lots - preferably if the lot has a roller coaster or carousel or a carnival/circus type tent on it.

This is a picture from 'Rolling Heights' - my first roller coaster build ever and is shown in full further down this page. It is number 1 in the list below - because it is the one that started this thread in the first place.

Once you get the idea of how to make them go then it is just up to your imagination.

I've got a few more pics to put here now and then I'm stopping too. I still have to tidy it up some more but I think it is mostly finished now. I'll leave it for a few days so I can check it out properly. I'm too tired now. :?

EDIT: I took a few things out of the version I put onto the exchange. The gypsy caravan was stopping the map tag from displaying properly. I removed the blue and white hot air balloons too. I didn't like them. Then I did a general tidy up all over and put it onto the exchange.

NOTE: The URL has changed for my images again, so I need to fix them. I'll do that if this thread is added to the new forum in 2024.

I'm debating whether or not to put a seasonal marker on the lot. The only food stands I don't have in the lot so far are seasonal - also the booth for taking greeting card pictures is seasonal. I'd like to have them in the lot but not sure about the seasonal thing yet.

I can see there is plenty of scope for EA to make additional carnival type items as I've had to really search for things to use here to add a bit of variety to the lot.

I've got the mechanical bull in it too somewhere.

Oh goodness I am floored by how gorgeous these are! And so complex! My brain just doesn't handle build-work as well. But I still try :lol:.

I very bashfully present the water park I just finished. I didn't use a special world though, just Riverview.

I possibly will eventually put mine up on the exchange. It is just my first attempt at making a roller coaster and want to see how far I can push it and what works and what doesn't at this stage. I've just been getting Sims to ride and the roller coasters work. I now need to look at what needs changing with the rest of the lot.

Why be bashful? That looks fab! I have downloaded and recd this one as it is just the sort of thing I was looking for to place in IP.

I just put my roller coaster onto the Exchange. Here is the link:

It's got two roller coasters, and 3 buildings that were put there because the roller coasters needed them for one thing or another. Then I put various facilities in them.

There is a professional bar, some rest rooms, seats, a dance floor, various booths from Seasons and Supernatural and a few other bits and pieces to make some variety.

I made it in Midnight Hollow. That is why is seems so dark. If you don't like the purple and green colours of the roller coasters you can recolour them easily. And the buildings have dark exterior walls that can be painted with brighter colours for other worlds. I hope you enjoy this.

I have mine set as a hangout and it has regular visitors from town and they enjoy the things they find on the lot.

I should also add here that I did make changes to it since I uploaded the last lot of pictures.

I removed the gypsy caravan because it was interfering with the lot tag in town view.

I removed the small hot air balloons from one of the car bundles. They are blue and white and tied down to the ground by way of a car tyre. I don't know if they are still available and I didn't think they added anything worthwhile.

There are a few other tidying up things I did too.

Thank you, Karr. :) As I was was doing the coaster over and over again I thought perhaps I should reconsider 50x50 but then I just became even more determined to do it. lol. Also, I'm so glad you uploaded your creation! It's wonderful. I rec'd it of course.

Oh, I'm sure you could create something fabulous! And thank you so much for saying that. That makes me very, very happy. :) I've been obsessed with creating water themed things lately so making a Water Park was the first thing that came to mind. I also didn't have Roaring Heights at the time so I wasn't sure how interested anyone would be in something not related to the new world. And then I found this thread!

I rec'd all the exchange items that were posted here and am looking forward to seeing more!

And rumbutter, your project looks amazing! I can't wait to see the finished product!
