Ok, so I finally finished an update on the Sunset Valley branch of my people of Simbria storyline from the images that have been sitting around since january.. yeah, so this is not from a recent play session, but it is my latest one from this story line.. also, since it's been a while since I last posted about it, I wanted to make a quick summary of the active familys story and background so far to introduce or reintroduce them..

Chapter 18.7 - May 2024 - My Medicine
Monica, the mother of this family, was born on a rainy november thursday at the Sacred Spleen hospital in the small town of Sunset Valley on the countrys far southwestern edge to parents Eirin Motorsen, a local police woman, and Ingmar Motorsen, a doctor at the hospital and avid chess player. At the time of birth she had one older sister, Ranveig Motorsen. Growing up into a child she found interest in helping her mother out with the garden and going fishing wherever there was water.. a lake, the ocean, the local swimming pool, but mostly in the ponds at the park downtown.
I wasn't taking screenshots of the game this far back, so all I have is this memory of Monica as a child catching a fish in the park.
Eventually and a little unexpectedly the family got a couple of new additons in the Monicas twin brothers Eivind and Knut. As the twins grew older and started school it became evident that all of these siblings suffered from the same mental condition as their mother albeit with some differences in between them. She never understood where it came from, but her younger brothers and her older sister Ranveig all thought it came from this one gigantic space rock that crashed into their backyard when they were younger.
Their mother Eirin also had this conditons, but never really talked much about it and did her best to downplay as if it was nothing or completely normal. As a newcomer to the town, even though she had lived there for several years and started a family of her own, Eirin didn't want the town people to think they were crazy or something.. so this, whatever it was, was best kept as a family secret, as much as possible...
By the time Monica had become a teenager, her interest in plants and fishing had grown, or combined, into an interest in science and it was clear to her then what she would devote her life to..
Some years later while she was busy working her way up the ladder of the Landgraab Research facility she couldn't help but notice one of her new neighbours. A handsome out of town musician, down on his luck and broke after being kicked out of his band over some, according to him, silly and insignificant dispute...
After some dating they became a couple, got married and moved in together in their new home by the beach front downtown. In february 2010 their first child Lise Veronica was born, and 8 years later she became an older sister to a young boy named Thomas. Monica having grown up to hide and suppress the struggles of her mental condition was also in denial about her daughter Lise Veronica suffering from the same. It wasn't until her sister Ranveig noticed it on Lise Veroncias 13th birthday that something was done about it, and they all went to the doctor, long overdue, to finally break the silence and seek treatment... After aging up and getting better, Lise Veronica became girlfriends with Kristina Reppe following one of the annual prom nights at their school, as well as becoming very interested in animals which led to her begging her parents to adopt a cat, as well as finding and sneaking a rodent and two snakes into the house... ask for forgiveness, not permission..
Her younger brother Thomas has shown some interest in science, like his mom and cousin Oliver Freddy, but Lise Veronica dislikes science and thinks its stupid...and that's pretty much where we are now..

Chapter 18.7 – May 2024 – My Medicine
..well, to give a very brief summary, the most important thing that happens in this chapter I think is Lise Veronica (to the right) hanging out with her ~1,5 years older friend Margrethe at the arcade, having fun and talking about some ideas for the future..
You see, Margrethe will have her 16th birthday next month which means that she will be just old enough to begin practicing to learn how to drive, though she cannot actually get her drivers license until she turns 18 (becomes a young adult), because those are the laws in this Simbrian Kingdom (mimicing the laws of my home country of course, and not the laws of the US where the game was made). So.. the girls are thinking that once Margrethe is old enough and has graduated from high school, that they'll go on a road trip (if Lise Veronicas parents will allow it - she'll still be a teenager and not have graduated at that point). So there is no guarantuee that this road trip will ever happen, mind you.. giving myself to option to not having to write that part... 😉
Monica has continued to work hard on her plant research at the Landgraab Institute as well as working in her garden and reaching the maximum skill in gardening.
After hanging out at the arcade and violating the curfew by eating a late dinner at the Corsican Bistro Margrethe was invited to sleep over and come next update she (and her parents) will be the active household as it will be in the month of June and she will then be old enough to start practice driving to eventually get her drivers license... and hopefully I will have my next post about them in not to long.
