281 The Watcher Watches: Emelie & Waylan ~~ Laz ~~





Waylan gets 'the call' from Laz. Waylan has been expecting this, with trepidation. He knows he is heir, the promised leader of the pack of werewolves, because he is the firstborn of the past leader, Dwayne. With his father gone, the town's wolves have been without a proper leader. Laz has done what he can, to try to make order, try to convince the lone wild wolves to join the pack, but without much success, because Laz's heart isn't all that into it, he doesn't want to do what is not meant for Him.

Waylan heeds the call.

He takes his sweet Emelie with him, as he knows she likes to try on clothes, and have a nice chat with others. Laz is busy at the moment trying to convince Preacher that red high heel shoes would compliment his outfit. Preacher was hoping for a new hair style.
Waylan laughs at the conversation, then shows his true feelings for Preacher.
Yep, he has not forgiven him for hurting his friend, Alfred.

Laz quickly dismisses Preacher, and turns. "Waylan, thank you for heeding the call."
"But Laz, I thought I could wait until I aged up to adult!" says Waylan. "My idea is to marry as a human, so my sweet Emelie and wonderful child Izzy, can see me as I truly think of myself."

Laz can't help himself, he is so delighted and charmed with this cute cub's earnestness.
"Ah yes, their child Izzy, as unique as the Loch Ness Nessie." thinks Laz.
"Izzy or rather Aziz, will surely make the most marvelous Queen of the werewolves the world has ever seen...but that is a very long time from now, Waylan. The child needs a good mentor, and who is better fit than Aziz's own Father?" says Laz. "A Father who is himself Leader of the pack!"

"Aziz likes to be called Izzy! We don't know when our child will age up to be Queen or King, it could be 50 years from now for all we know!" sputters Waylan, horrified that his darling child already be thought of as a future Leader of the pack! Oh! The difficult responsibility his darling child would bear, and Oh! What would Ayden think?
''Laz, you don't understand! Ayden already dislikes the lingering scent of wolf he can detect on Me! He has made me promise to encourage the Vampire in Izzy, so I cannot be a mentor for leadership of the Werewolves! Besides, I don't want anymore hardships put upon Izzy! My child already has too much err, 'uniqueness' to come to terms with, being both wolf And vampire, male And female!" Waylan tries to explain.

"Waylan, you don't yet understand that there are many who are much more accepting and supportive than you realize. You will find that out when you are older and more experienced. For the time being, I want to encourage you and Izzy, both, to be who you truly are. And I will be honored to mentor you both." says Laz.

Waylan has a lot to think about! He likes and trusts Laz. It occurs to him that if he accepts his role as rightful leader, the longer he remains leader, the longer Izzy will be protected from a huge responsibility. Waylan thinks he should forsake being Human for the love of his child. But he will need to discuss this with his Emelie!
"Thank you for the call Laz, I will get back to you after talking it over with my Emelie."
"Of course son, I understand." says Laz, embracing him, and realizing the poor lad probably misses having a father figure of his own, to lean on.

Laz has to get back to work, and Ethereal comes to chat with Waylan. She is Laz's girlfriend, she is very nice and very pretty, Waylan thinks.

Emelie sees that Cabana and his brood are here on the lot, and makes a beeline for her brother, Tristan.
"Hi Tristan! Guess what!?! Waylan and I have Daddy's blessing to marry!"
"Oh sis, about time! I'm so happy for you!" says Tristan, grabbing her up in a hug.

"You should come back home now, we all miss you, especially Daddy."
"I've already talked to Dad about that. I won't leave Tula, I'm her protector, and my Godfather will never allow her out of his view, you know how Dante is!" says Tristan.
"Of course I do, he is just like You! hahaha or you are just like Him! But Daddy said they both made an agreement and it is OK now with Dante, for you and Tula to move in with us!" says Emelie.
Tristan thinks that is fantastic news!

Ayden hears much talking and laughing from downstairs, and hears his son's sweet tenor voice, which makes his heart ache with joy! He zooms to his side!
"Son! Thank the Gods you are here to stay!" says Ayden, grabbing him in a strong heartfelt embrace.
"Hello Father! Thank you for clearing it with Dante!" Tristan says happily.
"Well, yes, I said I would!"
They all chat for awhile.

Waylon heads outside to speak with Emelie. She is always so happy to see him, even if it's only been 10 minutes since she has seen him last!
"Sweetie, I think I should return to the wolf ways and accept my role as leader, for Izzy's sake. The longer I am leader the less long Izzy will have to endure that responsibility. What you you think of that idea?"

"I think it is an ultimate sacrifice, Waylan. I know you prefer being human, so to give that up for the love of Izzy...well I just think you're wonderful to do that. ... Of course, Daddy's not going to like it, I hope he doesn't take away the blessing."

Waylan gets on his knee and holds up his great Grandmother Wolff's shiny ring, and places it on Emelie's finger.
"I love you, Lielie" he says.
