@Lexers615 If you can log in, you shouldn't need to update. If you can't log in, I'd try the manual updates off the Sims 3 site and work up from Seasons until you can log in. The Launcher kept telling me I needed to update, but I ignored it (except for making certain it was set to No Automatic Updates). The Showtime Portal and Store might not work without updates, but they shouldn't be necessary for what you're doing.
I have no problem with the launcher, and I can log into the launcher, but I can't log in to use the ingame online feature (Top right hand notification).
Edit: I updated up to Island Paradise, and I now can log in in game. However, I'm worried about updating further than the implementation of the bug...
Edit #2: Without Seasons, I was able to play with medium quality graphics. With Seasons, I had to lower those to minimal, AND I encountered some crashes. I knew that Laptop hadn't been turned on since March 2016, but I was taking for granted that it was up to date at that point. Just to be sure, I double checked, and it was far from that... Still, the basegame ran smoothly with medium quality graphics on a double core 2GHz Vista based laptop with 2Gb RAM, built-in graphic card, and severely outdated BIOS, and drivers...
Edit #3: I just ran into a serious setback... I just realized that, back then, I purchased an Island Paradise download key on eBay, so I don't have an actual install disk... I'll have to purchase an used keyless disk or such before attempting "Who Keeps Sending These?", however, "Nice Arm!" is in progress...
