Time to report in - briefly. I think I remember the LTW my previous sim had - Grand Explorer - or something similar. That's the one that doesn't show you how many rescues have been done. You just get a big surprise when the island finally is revealed. I almost stopped looking for it as I felt I was wasting my time.
Now with this game I have a single sim household and she is human and is newly made so has not been a occult.
She is currently level 8 in diving, level 9 in lifeguard career and has rescued 21 of the 50 sims she needs to rescue to achieve her LTW of Seaside Savior.
She revealed Beryl Shoals quickly. Then she joined the lifeguard career and has been working on that and diving/looking for Refuge Island on her day's off.
She completed the early steps for Refuge Island fairly quickly. Then had to beat a shark in a fight. That took me a while. She just managed to do it today and since she'd just started a dive and still had about 6 hours to go I thought I'd keep her down there and see if she could get the badge to beat 3 sharks in a fight. Well she did manage to do it and the achievement triggered and I got the badge.
Then she reported in, which the game told her to do after she beat the first shark, and got Refuge Island after searching for the map.
So she's got to rescue another 14 Sims to reveal Cay to the City. But she'll be chasing 50 rescues to get her LTW.
That means I'll need to reveal one more island - assuming she manages to get Divers Den fairly quickly.
She's already made friends with Mia Azul and Triton King but there's been no sign of Salty yet.
She's only got one map piece so far.
Hasn't found any bottles - I'm saving her lifetime reward points for a collection helper. It makes it much easier to find bottles.
I did reveal all of the islands in my previous game with an overstuffed household and not much effort until I decided to get serious and go after Cay to the City. When I started that game I had no plans to look for any islands. It was just that I sent a sim out on day 1 of the game with a collection helper in his inventory (he was reused from another game) and he found two islands simultaneously in about day one of the game. They were Beryl Shoals and Plumbob Island. I came to the conclusion that the seashell I'd sent him to pick up must have been a message in a bottle.
It's not being so easy this time but I'm making progress and the collection helper should help with that elusive bottle. I think I found the special bottle on Mermaid's Secret island once years ago too.
I'll keep you updated with progress if there is any more to report.
