DivinylsFan The first time you start a save, SP asks if you want to delete the homeless sims that don't have a specific purpose (maids, stylists, etc.) It also has a Manage Homeless setting, where homeless sims without an assigned purpose are removed regularly; this also allows some homeless to become residents if there's space and a reason for it.
Overwatch has a Clean Up All Homeless option, to purge them every night; it's set to False by default.
emorrill I like control too, at least sometimes, and had success with adding SP and locking down progression for pretty much every sim in the entire town. It takes a bit of time to set up but is then very low-maintenance, and in the rare event that something slips through the cracks, SP gives me a notification and I can fix it right away. I'm not suggesting you change the way you play now, but it's worth considering for future saves where you don't want to have to worry about the game itself messing with your setup.
Overwatch! That's the one. Is that the one that has manage the dead too? Where you can grab your relatives or anyone's graves before you move town ... Yeah and cleanup the vehicles and stuck sims. The amount of less-than-genius sims that end up under the hot springs boulder floor in China ...
