- Wouldn't mind being proven wrong on this one, but I'm pretty sure those hidden traits are set at "birth" and are only handed down to genetic offspring.
- @igazor Well my goodness, I have played the Sims from sim 1 and can't believe that I have never heard of hidden traits, So what is that all about and what are the hidden traits. I must be in la la land.
- @Evalen Hidden traits are traits only found in NPC sims or sims at a particular level in a job. For example...
Can Apprehend Burglar trait is found in police NPCs or Level 3 law enforcement sims
Can Salute - level 4 military
Immune to Fire - firefighters, bonehilda, genies
Makes No Messes - Maids
Pizza Appreciator - pizza delivery
Pyromaniac - children of firefighters or genies
Asian/Egyptian/French Culture- people from Shang Simla, Al Simhara or Champs le Sims
More can be found here
https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/Hidden_trait - @rubyskywalker Thanks I get it. My sims have never had a job, or careers, So I get it. I guess that is why I never realized they existed and was not aware of them. Now that, that is solved, it back to my sims.
- @Evalen You're welcome! Have fun simming!

Yeah, I kinda guessed this one, I mean, it makes sense of course - but Sims logic doesn't always makes sense, haha. I mean, in theory both adopted and born-of children in Sims could inherit these traits, if you consider nature vs nurture. I doubt it , but it would have been nice!- Do those traits ever get handed down to grandchildren? Adopted kids don't come with genes from their adoptive parents (duh) but they are on the family tree in the same place as any genetic child and their adoptive parents ARE considered for passing down hair/eyes/skin. Which is absolutely bonkers of course.
Also the hidden traits gained through their parents' careers might apply because they're more retroactive. - WatrDragonRising NewcomerI have one sim who "can salute" even though his parents aren´t in the military, his granddad is. So it seems to be possible to be inherited further down the line.
Also, I´m pretty sure, that I´ve seen grandchildren "eating with chopsticks", which comes with the hidden chinese trait. "InfraGreen;c-17219849" wrote:
