Finally reinstalled TS3 after a hiatus. Except my computer has had lots of issues since then. Help!

The first time I ever posted here was way back in 2016, apologize if the format of this post is all wrong or worse, this post is not in the right category. :#

Basically long story short, my computer can no longer run as it used to, and I'm afraid that it will impact my game play majorly. I know you really shouldn't play will all expansions (except Island Paradise, I don't have it) and tons of cc for your game and computers' sake, but I've grown so accustomed to the packs and items over the years that I can't let go.

Last time I played was at the end of July. I panicked and uninstalled it after I CONSTANTLY getting script errors from NRASS and getting graphical errors that impacted my actual game play. :s I tried a new world and the same thing happened.

I don't play with cheats or other mods besides ones that catch errors and save my game for me. All my CC is from Mod The Sims or the store so it can't be bad CC.
All my specs are fine to play TS3 to my knowledge, except that my computer takes ages to turn on and shut off and it sometimes freezes randomly when going into hibernation mode... and the occasional crash.

What can I do to prevent my game from crashing to desktop- or having the same issues again? Could this be caused by some underlying issue I'm not aware about?

I appreciate any help!

  • This might have been better off posted on the Tech Discussions board here; maybe one of the kind moderators will move it for us.

Many of us on suitable hardware play all or almost all of the 11 EPs, there is no reason not to if our systems can handle the load. If you are relying on the Patch 1.69 Launcher's warning about "too many" EPs, we all got that if playing an Origin controlled game and it can be ignored again if on suitable hardware.

On the NRaas mod script errors, we would be happy to help interpret those at NRaas if you provide them to us over there. It is a huge part of what we are there for.

Ordinarily I would ask for a dxdiag so we can see the exact specs of the system you are working with -- this is assuming Windows, if you are on a Mac then that requires a different conversation. But it sounds to me like your system is experiencing mechanical problems it did not have before that don't really have anything to do with the game. Those really need to be checked out first. If its fans/cooling system or power supply are failing, if it's suffering from some sort of hard drive or graphics card damage, if its internal components are clogged with dust/hair and it needs to be professionally cleaned, or if it's simply failing due to old age, then there is nothing that can be done with the game to make it run better. The system would really need to be checked out and repaired or replaced first.
