How to Play TS3 Offline?

Hello Community,

Just wondering how to play TS3 offline without going through the EA Launcher? Previous discussions on this topic are outdated and I can't figure it out myself.

I own all the physical copies of TS3 and its expansions, so there should be no reason to need the Launcher and the game should be fully available offline. Appreciate any help!

Thanks.

  • I don't use the EA app at all, so I am unable to help with running the game through the EA app in offline mode.

However, my game is installed completely from disk only to version 1.67. To install this way, your copy of The Sims 3 base game disk must be from before 2012. All of the others can be later, but if you install a later copy of the base game disk, it will force you to install Origin and then update to the EA app.

Check out The Sims Depot's How to Join the 1.67 Club, or Downgrade Sims 3 to 1.69: A Comprehensive Guide.

    Things of note:
    1. To purchase SimPoints, you may need the EA app. So if you want to buy them, install the EA app on a different computer. If anyone else knows a better way, please share with the class.🙃

    2. Install the Superpatch for version 1.67, not the one for 1.69. I can't find my copy, and the link on the NRaas site doesn't appear to do anything. Does anyone have a current working download link for the 1.67 patch?

    3. ALWAYS uncheck the box for installing the EA download manager or Origin every time you install a new disk, or you will be back to square one.

    4. There is also a Create A World tool specifically for the version 1.67 installation. Does anyone have a current working download link for the 1.67 CAW tool?

  • There is no Super Patch for 1.69, as the intent was always to allow Origin to apply the patch.

Direct download link for the Super Patch, Windows/1.67:
    http://akamai.cdn.ea.com/eadownloads/u/f/sims/sims3/patches/TS3_1.67.2.0240xx_update.exe

Some browsers block it because the URL starts with http rather than https, but you can see that it points directly to EA servers, so it's safe.

Both Create a World downloads can be found here, but they won't work unless the user is signed in:

SimsSyndicate  There is a way to bypass the Sims 3 launcher (not the EA App) on a 1.69 install, and you can play offline... but only once you've signed into the EA App while in online mode.  So if your base game disc is old enough, your better bet is to uninstall the game and reinstall using only the discs.

If you do need to uninstall the EA App version before reverting to an all-disc install, you'll need to do a clean uninstall, or clean your computer's registry manually, to remove the various registry entries that the EA App would otherwise leave behind during the normal uninstall process.  One way to do it is described here:
