hemotoxin93 The Gold edition of Dragon Valley includes some extra content and also some SimPoints for you to buy more extra content, if you want. (The idea is to buy the Renaissance Faire set, which is 1,710 points. But there are better ways to spend the points, including buying that set on a steep discount when it's on the Daily Deal.) It doesn't matter what version of the game itself is installed.
Having said that, you may not be able to use DV at all. It needs to be installed through the Sims 3 Store site, so it needs to show up on your account there. Registering the code within the EA App often uses up that code without applying it to your Store account.

As far as I know the only difference between the standard edition of a world and the gold edition is the gold has an extra venue in it and it is usually cheaper to buy the gold edition than to buy the standard edition and then buy the venue separately.
karritz The Gold version comes with Celtic Lands, which isn't a venue but a set of a few extra items. There's no other way to buy it. The Gold version also comes with 1,900 SimPoints, and the buyer is encouraged to use those points to buy the Renaissance Faire venue. But this isn't actually included in the Gold Edition.
This set is cheaper on the Daily Deal, of course. (I believe it was 1,900 points at release, and it's now 1,710, so 10% off.) That's what I referenced in my previous post.

@puzzleaddict sorry - I didn't see your response. I find these new forums impossible to navigate and try to stay away from them. I hope hemotoxin93 solves their problem. I was just trying to let them know that they didn't have the wrong version of the game to use the non standard version of the world. I don't have the EA App as I only have the original (2009) disk version of Sims 3 on my PC and didn't install Origin when I set up the game. Therefore I don't have access to my other EA games but I prefer it this way. Less complications.
