Getting twins without the Fertility Treatment reward?

Does anyone know if our sims can have twins without buying the Fertility Treatment lifetime reward? I try not to buy it because than if my sims have babies, they always pop out twins or triplets and w...

I get my sims to read pregnancy books, listen to the kids radio, watch kids tv and dance to the kids radio. Throughout the pregnancy. I think it only is really necessary until she knows she's pregnant but I'm not sure of that so I keep her going all the way from TFB to birth.
