So I'm currently writing a sims story where my sims are crashed on an island. That island is Duneoog Now because they're trapped on an island they can't get a job.Also, I really don't want to take the easy route and just use money cheats or mods to give them money.So, what are some ways to make money that don't involve mods, cheats, or a job?

Painting, sculpting, writing, and gardening to name a few.

If there's spawners on the island your sim can go searching for collectables such as gems and metals that can be smelted down. Fishing is another good idea that fits in with the survival theme.

Finding stars can be lucrative once sims find 25+ of them. On an island I'd think fishing would be the obvious choice. Can your sims travel? Tomb exploring can make lots of money from relics, gems, and metals. Day jobs at university can be worth a bundle. If there are dive lots in the world and you have IP, deepwater fishing and looting chests can make lots of money, especially if you consign everything. My current household owns a resort which is pulling in about 13k a day. Might not make sense on a crashed island though.

I see that it's up to igazor to ask the Obvious Question once again. What do your sims need money for if they are trapped on a deserted island? >:)I mean besides the property tax bills and the Repo sim, but I would probably cheat them the No Bills Ever LTR to stop those since they wouldn't make any sense in that context. I don't recall the Howells being any more successful on Gilligan's Island than the rest of the castaways, they only thought that their money was helping them. :p

Ok, so this is kind of cheating I guess, but wouldn't disable trophies. If you move a sim out of a household they get 20,000 to start. Well move them back in your household and they keep that money. Repeat.

Trophies? Could be missing something, but that doesn't sound like a TS3 thing unless there's a sports stadium on that deserted island and then we would have to ask where the opposing team and the spectators would be coming from. We have Badges but I don't think those translate into anything tangible for the sims to have as those are really for the player. Maybe the kind of Trophies meant are a TS4 concept?

The OP could have used cheat commands or mods to grant their household more cash in much the same way as gaming the move-in and move-out system. But sometimes we want our sims to earn something by working for it, as that becomes part of the fun of playing. :)
