I wouldn't want just a 32 to 64 bit conversion but a rewrite and EA probably won't do that because of what igazor said -

Thanks for coming back to me. I love my disks. I have complete control of what goes on my computer and I can play offline any time I want. I have never played anything but the sims and I don't envisage that changing any time soon. I will do all I can to keep my game running but as I have just said to @igazor all good things must come to an end. This is partly why I asked the question about moving on because I am beginning to look at other games. I wondered if others were doing likewise. The question of a major upgrade had not really occurred to me as I am inclined to agree with igazor also but it is interesting to see the number of people who clearly have given it a lot of thought.
