Loud Click Volume
When I'm in The Sims 3, clicking on anything is very loud. This is most annoying when looking for hidden doors etc in WA tombs. I've tried "Options/Sound" but click volume doesn't seem to be affecte...

There are sound effect mods that can mute out certain individual effects without disturbing the others (bicycle bells, sims' alarm clocks, Build/Buy music, certain radio stations, ghost music, etc.) TwoFtMama has a slew of them on her Sims Asylum website. I've checked and none of the ones I know about are intended to work on the object-click sounds.
I've never found or heard of the object-click sounds being that obnoxious relative to other sound effects in the game. Guess I have to ask if the OP has an unusual sound card on their system and maybe its drivers are in need of updating?
