Even better is to go the Sims 3 Answers HQ and chat with a representative.

Are you playing on Mac or PC? For me MacOS has always been unstable when running this game. It often crashed in CAS.
I switched to Windows and the game runs great now. Perhaps you're experiencing a similar thing?
Also make sure that you're not running outdated mods if you use mods at all. These will definitely cause errors.
Good luck! - DarkMirageII5 years agoNew VeteranHave you tried removing all CC/mods and seeing if it crashes?
- HillyPlays5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Kynan I did and it worked fine, but I'm one of those simmers who relies on cc and mods to make the game look better.

Well now you know its a mod, so you can do the process of elimination.
Create a new mod folder, and one by one add your mods back.
So:
Add mod --launch game - if game runs exit out
Add next mod-launch game- if game runs exit out
and keep doing it until you find the culprit. - DarkMirageII5 years agoNew Veteran

I do the same, but I'm not going to leave one in my game that's causing problems. You just need to remove them and test a few at a time until you can eliminate what's causing the crashing. - HillyPlays5 years agoSeasoned Ace

I do have a pregnancy mod that caused this issue, but it's been behaving fine until recently. Every time I have it, it works, then it makes my game shut down. :(
ETA: I deleted a few mods from both Packages and Overrides, including that pregnancy mod I mentioned. Loading back up to test my game. - NikkeiSimmer5 years agoLegendI would add a Temp folder in your mods>packages folder. Makes the process of elimination go a lot faster. I've taken five at a time, stuck them in the temp folder and booted the game...if it doesn't load, then it's one of the five mods I've stuck in.
If it does load then you pull out the five, stick them in the regular area you keep your mods, and stick in another five into the temp folder. Rinse and repeat. - karritz5 years agoLegendIf the problem is the game failing to load the one that always gives me that problem is NRAAS Cupcake mod and it only crashes the load process if I don't have the Bakery from the store installed.

If you have the Sunnersta Kitchen CC by marcussims9, remove those files. One of them is severely broken but I cannot remember which file.
