I created two different sims. The Rockatron sim was the main sim. The other sim I created using the edit town. She went to college without me controlling her at all. And she got a degree in Fine Arts....

I have seen that happen all the time when I was playing. There were several sims who married into the family that I never played before that point, and quite a few of them came in with a University Degree.
