If you aren't sure if the Sim is pregnant (and she hasn't changed into maternity yet), go to Smartphone>enroll in Uni. It should be grayed out and when you click on it, it says 'This Sim is pregnant'. 'Course you have to have UL for it to work. =)
Same thing with traveling abroad (World Adventures) and skinny dipping (base game, I think) - no pregnant Sims allowed.
