I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot but this is it off the top of my head. I haven't encountered any downsides, apart from having to clean my cache files before playing, but that's not a downside to me. Easily done, I always do it directly after closing my game.
I'm specifically curious to read more about Traveller and Story Progression. I don't have those installed (yet), because I hear it slows down your game. I'd love to know if there's truth in that (and to what extent) and what the big pros are.
- keep my world alive by setting up pregnancies in households I want to
- repairing family trees after moving to a new world
- removing the occult mermaid state from random townies
- giving sims in town jobs
- replacing the looks of a sim by a sim in CAS
- turning pets into roommates (playing them as an inactive character has a different vibe)
