Pangu Axe Glitch Broke my Family?

My WA family is happily situated in their home, having collected all the collections, gems, etc from the three travel locations. Mom and dad have level 3 visas, etc. I placed the axe on the wall and now my family can't move out. I wanted to move the eldest son out so the daughter could have children, but I get stuck on processing and it's def. not my pc. I have no other issues with my other sims.

Looking it up it says something about pangus axe messing up the family when brought from an inventory. Going back to a previous save is not an option, is there a way to salvage this family or are they stuck in the too small house forever?

  • Move the axe back into the backpack of the sim that originally found it... if possible... If this is not possible, put it in the backpack of the sim that originally started your current family... and reboot your game...

    Just a suggestion, below:
Chances are the game cannot find the axe on the wall due to the extent of the content in the house.
I had to learn to part with a lot of collectables if I wanted to have an adventure sim and a large household of sims.
If you also have your buy/build personal inventory stocked with items you are saving for later... Toss all but the most important items out. Uh, this is going to be hard for me to even say... those backpacks, if they are stuffed, try reducing them too.
(Gosh, I so dislike cleaning backpacks and the store held family inventory)

Lol wow, I'm having a similar issue, I don't know if it's the axe but my household does have it so, maybe.
With the glitch even when I go to 'edit town' and try to pull a sim that way, the household becomes 'unset' so I have to select it again and no sim(s) moved to clip board.
If the glitch is the axe itself, I'll be sort of glad as I'll be able to fix the problem I'm having lol.
  • The only way to fix it was to kill off mom (who found the axe). I left the gravestones on the property so I'm sure they'll be back.(Killed off dad sim too) As soon as the two sims who started the family were gone there was no issue.

Be easier if a sim could get/ have a certain item in their inventory then have a ' go axe-murderer' interaction where they kill off the entire household (except themselves that is). Lol =P
Haven't tried it yet but I think a problem solver would also be to get ird of the 'Pangu Axe' by either gifting it to another sim or just selling it..
Put it in the 'family inventory', worked for a short while only though lol. Not going to try getting rid of it just yet though..

My idea doesn't work. Seems the axe does actually glitch the whole household... Mine atleast lol...
  • um - uh - oh my - Oh GOSH

You might try these easy clean-up tools -

    Before killing off Sims...

First try changing households for a short period of time.

    IF that does not work...

Try some or all of the suggestions listed below...

Well, unless you need a few good ghost in your game...

    Try clearing the game caches.

    With the game shutdown:

    Open:
    Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3

    Delete:
(your game will rebuild these files the next time you boot up)

    CASPartCache.package
    compositorCache.package
    scriptCache.package
    simCompositorCache.package

    Open:
    WorldCache Folder
    delete any contents you find inside;
DO NOT delete the folder, delete just the contents

Close up all the above and return to your desktop

    Empty your trash

    Clear your Internet Cache
    Run Disk Cleanup
    Defrag (if needed)
(never try to defrag a SSD if you have one, unless someone smarter than me tell you to, that is)
    Run a registry cleaner
(I use CCleaner, but there are others that work)

    In Game,

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift+C
On your keyboard, all at the same time
In the blue bar at the top of the page

    Type:
resetSim Sim Name (Sim Name represents the name of the Sim that is glitching or you are trying to get to respond correctly, use the full name of the sim here.)

    Click:
    Enter

    And,
    Last but not least
    You might try this:

    After clearing the aforementioned caches

    Open:
the game; on the main menu
    Duplicate (copy)
the game that is giving you fits

    Open:
The newest copy of your game.
go to the house that was working improperly

See if it now works properly.
    If not:

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift+C

    Type:
    testingCheatsEnabled true

    Click:
    Enter

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift+C

    Type:
    buyDebug on

    Click:
    Enter

    Go to Shop Mode
With the cursor pointed at the axe (or whichever Sim or object that is acting funky)

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift
A pie menu will pop up

    Click:
    Reset

    Click:
    Live Mode

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift+C

    Type:
    buyDebug off

    Click:
    Enter

    Click:
    Ctrl+Shift+C

    Type:
    testingCheatsEnabled false

    Click:
    Enter

Or, head on over to the tech forum and explain what is happening in your game. There are quite a few folks over that way that are computer whiz kids...

Me, I am just a mere mom. ~smiles~

    Good luck & ~happy simming~

    (killing off simmies ~shivers~ lol)

  • They were fairies and had spent most of their time in one of the three "vacation" spots, so they lived a good life. I aged them gracefully-I'm not that cruel :)

I'll keep this written down for the future though. I have the save before I sent them off to grim if I want to fix it. Thanks :)

You should have gotten the Cow Plant and feed it--- 'dinner'

Fairies and vampires... Never play a sim as either cult for too long... 100+ sims days for a single age group (YA & adult EACH 100+) is a bit too much for me. I like to have my sims to play with for a period but can only do so much with a sim, then I want them to expire and then move on to play with a new one...

Edit: Discovered new fix. Moving to a new town.. Tried it and it works.
  • I do not kill my sims.. having said that I killed one about a week ago and I am still grieving for him. I did it because he glitched so badly that I thought I was going to loose my game, I have his gravestone safely put aside and will see a way to bring him back somewhere else and see what happens.

Cow Plant does not kill sims, she eats them and then days later they re-appear in town again, she might eat your active sim, I don't know, I do not let her eat my sims.

Once a silly sim of mine eat the cake and got eaten while I was distracted with another sim, I was horrified and ready to quit without saving if all else did not work, he had a death flower on his inventory so.. just in case, however the Cow Plant regurgitated him as he was very disgusting for Cow Plant to eat?

As nice as I am to my sims I am a horrible witch to townies, the reason why I bought the Cow Plant was to deal with paparazzi, disappointment.

You can't even try your nasty elixirs on them.. the game will not let you, double disappointment.

We need a serious and effective way to deal with this undesirables...

Let me get this strait, they expect you to buy from the sim store the Cow Plant that is supposed to eat sims... It does but doesn't kill them?? (I thought I read it eats sims then spits out grave stones somewhere at some point.. Very disappointing!)
What is even the point of getting it? Not to deal with paparazzi, if it doesn't 'expire' the problem, it DOESN'T solve anything..
What a useless item they try to get players to purchase points for...
And I thought I had an elder sim solution too...

The Axe of Pangu... So much work/ effort to get it only to seemingly get some nasty glitch with it. No amount of hard work goes unpunished...
