Pangu Axe problem

so ive been looking and looking and no one seems to have a solution for this. my sim is in china trying to do the pangu axe quest. but its invisible. this is the first tome she has ever been to china, but long long ago one of her ancestor did do this quest, in another town. in another china. i cannot use testingcheats/buydebug to simply place the axe back on the wall like just about every single threads suggests. it does not work. my sim cannot complete the quest and i dont know how to fix it. i really dont care about the axe itself, i cant just shift click to delete the boulders, i just want to get my visa and complete the quest properly. (plus is would be kinda nice to have the axe again)

does anyone know how to fix it?

    This happens all the time. You might want to try putting the ax from buydebug on a different wall such as in a vacation home and picking it up to see if that helps. I've found that if it's been done in that family at any time, this seems to happen. I wouldn't think it would since when you move to a new neighborhood and therefore a new destination, you generally lose your family tree along with all your other relationships. But it does seem to happen that way. Frustrating!

    ive tried placing it at the home lot, and i tried replacing the one in pangu dungeon, and both times it vanishes on live mode. im not sure what else to try :( yeah this family has been moved to the bin and new towns so many times, there is no way the game should still connect them to the original pangu axe. so i dont really understand what is going on

    When it vanished, did you have the walls up? Decorative items (which include Pangu Ax) will disappear when the walls are down after you go to live mode. The walls have to be up for it to be seen in that case. (Try it in the adventure place first though, that way you know it will get the adventure to complete if you can see it in that way.)

    I'm so sorry, Zeri. I guess we're both stuck (as I generally have gotten a Pangu's Ax before traveling and avoided that opportunity since I had to use the master patch instead of being able to incrementally do it so that I didn't get all the problems from the later than WA patches.)

    I'm wondering if you could leave the adventure at that point to go back home to your neighborhood, get the Ax at home, then return to finish the adventure with that ax. (I haven't tried that, so I have no idea if it would work.)

    no i dont think that will work either, as i had already tried to gift my sim the pangu axe before i even went to china. i assumed that it didnt work because it wasnt 'the real one' well the real one is invisible too >.<

    Look in your Family Inventory. That axe should have spawned there after it disappeared from the wall you set it on.

    pretty sure it isnt there, but the axe isnt important. i just want the quest to complete. having the axe in my inventory isnt doing the trick. it still counts as on the wall and i cant remove it

    I think what Infoseeken means is that sometimes if you pick up the ax, it ends up in the Family (not individual) inventory. Some people have not been able to complete the task because they don't realize it isn't in their personal inventory. However, since you weren't able to pick it up at all, that won't apply to you.
