Poi Spinning!

This would be an awesome skill for Island Paradise! First they start out with sock poi. They advance to flag poi. They then advance to LED poi. When they're advanced, they can spin fire poi! Please?

Probably a silly question, but what is poi?

It's fire spinning. Typically used in combination with Hawaiian dance or belly dance. I think it's great!! I'd LOVE to have some fire dancers in TS3!!

  • I learned poi spinning in the third grade! I'd love to see this in the game. There was a fire dance in Sims 2 Bon Voyage, so maybe...
  • I learned something educational today! I had no idea the fire spinning was called Poi Spinning. Like another poster I was thinking of the food and when I saw the topic title only I thought "what the heck?!?"

And yes, I would like this to be in the game.

Since they came out with the tropical set some time ago I have wanted Hawaiian and Tahitian dance as well. I work in a Polynesian place where they do all of those dances. I love my culture. We tell our history like dancing sign language. In Hawaii they were taken over by the ho'ale (white folk) and were told not to speak their native language. So the polys used a form of sign language and dance to hide their telling of history and stories and communication with each other.

As for the poi balls, they are native of New Zealand and the Moari culture. Moari are known warriors.
The Polynesian culture is beautiful. I wish they would have the hula, poi balls and fire knife in the Sims 3.
  • Poi dancing was native through out the South Pacific cultures. And it was introduced into the game when S2 Bon voyages was released. :D
