I haven't ever had an issue with Custard not highlighting content. Usually 99% of the time, if you're stripping out CC you only need the very first file listed and none of the others, not even the image files that sims 3 pack stores.
If Custard is missing CC, then it should be extracted with the rest of the files when using S3PExtractor, but I've never had that happen, nor has it ever incorrectly identified anything. When did this kind of behaviour apparently start with this tool? I have two version, 1.13 & 1.18 and they both work perfectly for me.
