- @Rhiannon58 (Is that tag working? None of the tags I have made lately seem to be clickable after I post them?) Anyway, you are my soul sister, I am pretty sure. Haha. I had 3 for years, but had only played it once and went back to 2. But yeah, the legacy challenge lured me in as well and I was addicted there on out.
As for mods, I didn't put mods in until last week, actually! I got them for very specific reasons and I am so thankful I did. The Story Progression mod totally fixed all the things about the EA version that weren't working for me and had it make more sense. - riennatelemnar7 years agoSeasoned AceTag worked @MKSizzle We might be soul mother-daughter or soul grandmother-daughter unless you are nearing retirement age. *laughs* I'll play for a while to see if I have problems that mods could fix. If not, I'm good to go. Interestingly, the new install from Steam made the game look much more beautiful! I'm sitting at the first window that wants me to place lots so I haven't gotten to checking out the game resolution but I think I'm going to be VERY happy I made that purchase (most I have ever dished out in one setting for game stuff). It was a super easy sell to the hubs who just bought two new golf clubs!
- @Rhiannon58 Haha ok I could be your soul-daughter. ;) On another note, I feel like Origin forced me into using them without me knowing there could be another way! I wonder if I get my next EP from, say, Steam, if it would let me off the hook? Or am I strictly tied to Origin now because that is where my other games are from? I am so tech-illiterate and everything else as well.
- riennatelemnar7 years agoSeasoned AceIf you don't want to re-buy the base game and your other EPs via steam, you are attached at the hip to Origin. There are lots of threads here talking about it with much more info that I myself know.
- Sigh... I loathe consumer culture. Oh well. Not that being attached is too bad, I just don' like to not have a choice.. I never actually sign in to Sims 3 site, but always have to have O on.
- For those who miss or require Rotational Play, or who might be mod curious and would like to read about what can be done, I'll just leave this here for now. I wouldn't say this is where those just learning their way around NRaas StoryProgression and its caste settings should start out, but perhaps a bit later on after some of the learning curve has passed. I haven't missed a birth, death, promotion, job or relationship change, or any other life-changing event among the sims I rotate through in years. :)
http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Story+Progression+Rotational+Caste+Settings - @igazor i have Story Progression, but I never understood what the "caste" thing even means. i am trying to read what you linked but it is a little over my head. Maybe I am too tired to understand things right now lol.
- The Rotational Play setup is for more intermediate users of the mod for sure.
I don't want to hijack this thread, but a caste is a group of sims. Automatic Castes have something or a set of things in common (age, gender, occult state, career, etc.) and sims are put into those castes by the mod automatically. So if you want vampires (or female vampires, or female Capricorn vampires in the Political Career who have the Childish trait) to age/not age, then an automatic caste could be used.
Manual Castes are managed by placing sims into them "manually," they don't need to have anything else in common to qualify. That's the kind of caste that Rotational Play uses -- these are "my" sims and the restrictions associated with them when they are not actively being played, everyone else in town can progress as freely as they wish all around them. - @igazor Wow that made actual sense to me. Thank you, you have allowed me to have a break through.

I'm sure two golf clubs was much more than the cost of your entire purchase knowing just how much "golf" costs...in terms of equipment. I presume he bought a driver and a pitching wedge or something like that...those things are freakin' expensive. Yeah...I've looked into the cost of taking up golf. With the green fees and club fees...it's WAYYYY out of my price range. :D ...So he SHOULD be OK with your getting Sims stuff. @Rhiannon58. This is coming from someone with an XY chromosome.
Not only do I shell out for game stuff...I end up eyeing photography stuff...then there's the car that I've been eyeing for ages now. Not to mention, photography trips...cost a lot of money. :D Lord help me if I win the lottery. I'd have to buy a $3.2M home just to put all the stuff in it. :D"MKSizzle;c-16578221" wrote:
Btw, enjoy! How many was that at once? I only have 1 EP right now so I have a lot of catching up to do. There are some I am just simply not interested in, though, so I will probably never buy all of them.
@MKSizzle; I thought so too... I started playing Sims 3 in January of 2017... :D So I'm a relatively new simmer... :D And I thought. "Awwww, there's stuff that I don't see myself being interested in...Why would I be interested in Supernatural stuff or Into the Future... Until...I ended up with this.

Yeah...that'll teach me to think... :D One more EP and it's time to switch to Stuff Packs. :D Yippee!
