One question, though. I've got a fairground lot in my game and when I place a Seasonal Lot Marker on it I want to make sure that its current appearance is how it looks for summer, then have it change for Spring/Fall/Winter. Is there a way to bring all the common objects over into the summer layer so that they are one and the same, and then make changes to the common once I know its current appearance will be its summer appearance? I'm sorry for the complicated question, I confused myself just writing it, but I want to make sure I'm fully ready when Seasons comes.
If you place the Seasonal Lot Marker down on a lot that already has a bunch of objects on it, all of those objects will automatically be considered part of "Common" mode when the marker is placed.
What you could do is use the marker to set the lot mode to summer, then grab any of the transparent objects you want to have assigned to summer to pull them over to that mode of the lot. There isn't an automatic way to do it all at once.
Good question though, I'll add something on that to the FAQ!

Just to be sure and confirm, if you place a lot that will change seasonally, for example a festival lot, if you then in the household enter testingcheatsenabled true, go out to edit town, choose the lot and go in to build/edit on it, it's just like when you're in the middle of building your own seasonally changing lot, right?
I'm not entirely sure I understand what you're asking, but are you trying to find out if you can go back and continue editing a lot with a seasonal lot marker after it was initially built? If so, the answer is yes.

is it possible to have an object 2 seasons long or in all seasons except 1? or do you need to place it multiple times.
thank you for the tutorial.
If you wanted to place a particular object that looked the same in spring/summer/fall, but did not appear in winter, you would need to place that object on the lot three times in each of those different modes. There's no way to share a single object across multiple versions of the lot unless they're in Common mode.
