I'm so confused with all of this; I'm not a builder so I'm worried that I won't enjoy the weather if I don't build or edit worlds.:(
What about community lots? Do I need to place them down in order for it to snow through out the entire world?
If I don't place these things around town or build proper lots is the weather only gonna effect my lot? :( If I knew all this before hand I may not have pre-ordered as I hate building.CAW doesn't work for me and the world I'm playing in is huge.
One more question if I place one of these on each residential lot; do I have to in each time the season changes and set it to the correct season or is there a way to make it rotate through the seasons itself.

This is only true to some extent. I saw it confirmed that your neighbours will put lights up at home when Snowflake Day draws near and that they'll do this without you having to bother with the lot marker.
