@LewisjudjayyAre you playing the game on Windows 10 or 11?
Reasons for issues like that are always vast, but I will say one big reason could be this: There was *huge* discussion about these issues and more on the sims forum site a couple of years back. Apparently when Windows 10 rolled out some graphics updates (starting in December of 2019), hundreds of Sims 3 players have reported those exact same issues in their game and more. After many of us had tirelessly done our research on how to fix the problem(s) it was concluded that it was indeed an issue due to Windows 10 Graphics Driver updates and the only solution to a fix for it, lies with the great Windows company themselves. And trust me...I've reached out to them a few times and the couple of responses I actually managed to get told me that nothing could be done...And that we just had to wait and see if future updates would fix it.
It stinks, and believe me, I feel your pain. ☹️
I hope you can find a way to still enjoy Sims 3 even with those issues present.
If they are talking about issues with the 64bit version of the game, that's a mac thing. not a windows thing. So microsoft can't do anything about that. What is a known issue with the game is that every time the GPU gets a driver update, the game gets confused and defaults back to lowest settings. As far as i know you never had to change the overrides in graphicsrules after a update but maybe that changed.
@Rob199x Right. I should've asked if they were playing on a Mac. 😉
But yeah driver updates with Windows 10 (maybe 11 too, I don't know) will revert the game graphics settings back to default as well. I also forgot that. Thank you for mentioning it. 👍🏻
