Male sims. My game is pretty matriarchal, but most females are born in game so I have created more males than females through the years. Sometimes I create new couples and let them have both male and female children (often random) to increase the population for the future.
I play my selfsim's family (her children, grandchildren...) and I prefer their spouses to come from other families that have lived in my game for a couple of generations so they will have gene mixes that I'm not totally responsible for. And it's fun if someone else's selfsim is included in the gene pool.
