I also have most of the expansion packs installed and just recently did a fresh factory reset and it has seems to fix the majority of my issues accept trying to install mods though the fan may freak out some people(Its extremely loud doing game play but doesn't overheat my computer) my computer hasn't shown any symptoms of overheating.
