If I were to play an occult free game, which packs would I need to remove? Or mods and cheats to use? I was thinking of trying to strip my game down as lean as possible to reduce lag, but still have a full story to tell. I can think of plenty of stories that do not include occults or just use one occult. That led me to think about trying an occult free game. Or a game with only a single occult if it came in a pack other than Supernatural.Does anyone run their game without Supernatural installed?I heard that spawning occults are one of the things that cause lag. Is that true?

I play with as few occults as possible. I do have the Supernaturals pack installed but I want to keep them confined to their original worlds. So as @texansky said I have them all unchecked on that last tab in the Options menu. This means I don’t see fairies elsewhere, and I don’t find that other sims have suddenly turned into vampires, etc.I do still get zombies when it’s full moon. The only way I know to remove them is to have testingcheats enabled, then right-click (I think?) on the mailbox and you get an option about controlling supernaturals (among other things like changing season etc.). That takes you to a menu where you can remove the supernaturals you want gone. You have do it each time, e.g. a zombie will turn up at my house, but I click on the mailbox and then they quickly become like a normal sim, get in a taxi and go away. I do also have ghosts, but they don’t bother me. You might be able to remove them in the same way but I can’t remember, as I’m usually just focused on getting rid of those creepy zombies!

Most of us believe that the world was probably used as a test world for the developers and it some how made its was to our game.

If you open Options while in game and go to the last tab, you can uncheck the occults you don't want in your game.

I believe that Bridgeport, Midnight Hollow, and Dragon Valley have occults in the original population, so unchecked occults doesn't get rid of existing occults, just prevents new ones.

To get rid of zombies requires a cheat using the mailbox menu. I don't remember the specifics on how to do this though.

Later on, I want to play a zombie centered game, but right now, they are more of a nuisance than an addition to the game.

I think I am going to miss the moon cycle. I think the moon cycle was removed when I uninstalled Supernatural. I wish the zombies were not so integrated with the moon cycle!

Are there any apocalypse tutorials that explain how to retain zombies but remove all the vampires and werewolves and fairies? I bet some people only want to retain the witches and nothing else. Witch-only people would want to keep the moon!

I bought Dragon Valley and a combo pack from EA right after I first bought the EP and Stuff pack combo from Steam. Then I found out there were even more worlds at the Store and also CC worlds. I stopped buying until I figured out what was going on. Then got overwhelmed and went back to Sims 4 for a bit.

I am not sure how I have what I have, but these are the Store worlds that I can download:

Riverview
Monte Vista
Hidden Springs
Barnacle Bay
Dragon Valley

I cannot download the following

Roaring Heights
Midnight Hollow
Aurora Skies
Sunlit Tides
Lucky Palms
Lunar Lakes
Katy Perry Sweet Treats

I might buy Lucky Palms at some point. I am watching the sales.

I just want to install the best of the best and then the least necessary to play a specific story or challenge. Then start over from scratch again with just what I need for that story or challenge.

I am leaning towards installing a Store world and a few very specific Store items rather than reinstalling any of the expansion packs that I uninstalled.

You don't need a tutorial, this is simple! Have Supernatural installed, start a new game in any town that isn't Moonlight Falls or Bridgeport, turn on moon cycles and turn off vampires, werewolves and fairies in Options.

I have a long played save game in Riverview that I have posted over in The Sims 3 Creative Corner section but I will provide a link for you if you want to take a look at it. Riverview in my opinion is a small country town with rolling farming lands across the world. I quite like it myself.

In the future, I really want to try a Zombie apocalypse challenge. I also want to try some type of dystopian challenge that does NOT include Zombies.
