Just last week I started a new save in Sunlit Tides with the Strong family, which consists of a father and his teenager daughter. So I enrolled the daughter on boarding school and the father got a girlfriend and I asked her to move in (while the daughter was still in boarding school) and she accepted it. The second she was in my household the daughter automatically left boarding school without gaining any skills or traits, and then I couldnt control them. The white mark when we select a sim was on all 3 panels (father daughter and girlfriend), and as much as I switched between the 3 of them, the pictures changed but I only saw the stuff related to the girlfriend. In the end I exited without saving and gave up on living with the girlfriend.
@akaniki0 So you are saying that after creating a new complete save, you basically delete everything inside the folder and copy all the 5 files to that folder? How does that help? It feels like all you are doing is creating a new folder? :o
@kiara07 That's happened (the bolded text) a few times in my games too, maybe 4-6 times since I first started playing TS3 in the fall 2011, when a human sim or pet moves in, and all I've had to do was save the game, go to main menu and exit to desktop. And then delete all the cache files as usual before starting over, and when I was back to the family everything was perfectly okay and normal again. :)
