Your sim has to make friends with the client in order to get a good review, or at least get the interactions up to friendly. I'm not quite sure which. The charisma skill can help with that. You don't need a camera for portfolio photos. When the notification comes up that your sim needs a photo for their portfolio, I believe you need to just click on that, or else on the portfolio itself. It's been a while, so I don't remember for sure how it's done, but back when Ambitions came out, there were no cameras or cell phone cameras, and that was not a problem.
