@phoebebebe13 Whats the difference between this desktop and that laptop?
the desktop I posted for about the same price as the laptop would be better. The desktop has a better video card and more ram. The desktop will game better than a laptop always. And as AxelTaylor01 posted we could look on the company's direct web. You won't have to pay tax if you dont live in Cali on their product and you get free shipping.
@AxelTaylor01 Now I sound like a salesperson LOL- @pri4321 Do you know anyone or a friend that can build a pc for you? You would save more money just by buying the parts and putting it together.

Your welcome @pri4321. I'm not sure I was really any help tho. I would go with the desktop, the GTX 970 is a really good card. :)
GTX 970 is a very good card but it's a bit overkill for just the Sims 3 and 4 unless you plan on playing other demanding titles. GTX 960 will serve you enough. Note that the 970 technically only has 3.5 gb but I won't go into detail. "Stymie;13397660" wrote:

Kind of have to agree.. just for ts3 the 970 is overkill.. its a higher end gaming card for more demanding games. The 960 is still extremely fast for any game."phoebebebe13;13397561" wrote:
I want the desktop like I want more ram in my laptop. I want these things I don't need them :p
Nice way of saying I want to burn some cash on stuff that I will never use lol"Stymie;13397736" wrote:

Well the desktop my son would use more than I would but would I use 32gb ram if I had it YES!!! Right now I must live with 16 gb SIGH!
The chance that you will use 16gb or more is if you do heavy multitasking or video editing. I only have 8gb and it's more than enough unless I get into streaming...
No one knows why and it maybe due to memory leaks. EA told me the game needs more virtual memory not just ram.The sims 3 programing is messed up but my game plays much better on 16 gb than it does on 8. Other people with 16gb have reported same. EA does not tell the full truth on their specs about this game.
Have to agree on how much of a ram eater the Sims 3 engine runs. I've always thought of upgrading to 16gb, but I don't really need it yet :P
It is a ram hog. The launcher alone takes 2gb to run. I bypass it and only need it for downloading and uploading. It does have my curiosity how this game would run on 32gb and if you would notice a difference
You wouldn't notice a difference because there is no way the game will use more than 4GB of ram.
It does however use more virtual ram (page files.)
I have monitored ram usage when I use to play.. never used more than 3GB.
I know and I can't explain why this game runs better on 16 gb than it did on 8 gb. igazor also also spoke to people with 16 gb and claim their game runs better too. I don't have an answer for this. EA claims ( I have spoken to them a few times) that more ram helps the animation. How did they program this game? We know its messed up.
Well that's another reason I stopped playing ts3.. it was by far the worst coded game I have played. It's what happens when you try to make a sims game open world.- ts3 was just poorly thought out and poorly executed and the expansions just added to the misery.
- @pri4321 Solid State Drives. They have a faster reading speed compare to traditional hard drives. It does improve the loading time of the game too. 250-250GB should be enough for Sims 3 and Operating System combined.

PSU Wattage really depends on how much power is needed each pc components need such as CPU and GPU. Sorry if I'm making stuff even more confusing. I get nerdy when comes to PC stuff :p - Well I think I will get the desktop because I am patient on waiting loading screens lol @Symie But is inserting the SSD thing easy?

This the first one I configured got so far. I decided to choose the AMD cpu because I was able to add more stuff such as an SSD and monitor without stretching the budget too far.
That CPU is pretty popular without breaking the bank:
