I want the desktop like I want more ram in my laptop. I want these things I don't need them :p
Nice way of saying I want to burn some cash on stuff that I will never use lol
Well the desktop my son would use more than I would but would I use 32gb ram if I had it YES!!! Right now I must live with 16 gb SIGH!
The chance that you will use 16gb or more is if you do heavy multitasking or video editing. I only have 8gb and it's more than enough unless I get into streaming...
No one knows why and it maybe due to memory leaks. EA told me the game needs more virtual memory not just ram.The sims 3 programing is messed up but my game plays much better on 16 gb than it does on 8. Other people with 16gb have reported same. EA does not tell the full truth on their specs about this game.
Have to agree on how much of a ram eater the Sims 3 engine runs. I've always thought of upgrading to 16gb, but I don't really need it yet :P
It is a ram hog. The launcher alone takes 2gb to run. I bypass it and only need it for downloading and uploading. It does have my curiosity how this game would run on 32gb and if you would notice a difference
You wouldn't notice a difference because there is no way the game will use more than 4GB of ram.
It does however use more virtual ram (page files.)
I have monitored ram usage when I use to play.. never used more than 3GB."chesterbigbird;13397990" wrote:

I know and I can't explain why this game runs better on 16 gb than it did on 8 gb. igazor also also spoke to people with 16 gb and claim their game runs better too. I don't have an answer for this. EA claims ( I have spoken to them a few times) that more ram helps the animation. How did they program this game? We know its messed up."phoebebebe13;13398020" wrote:

Well that's another reason I stopped playing ts3.. it was by far the worst coded game I have played. It's what happens when you try to make a sims game open world.- ts3 was just poorly thought out and poorly executed and the expansions just added to the misery.

The sims 4 is far more buggy for me than the sims 3. Others in the sims 4 forum having same issue. If they don't fix the bugs I fear this new game will be worse than the sims 3.- well just wait until the expansions roll out lol :#

why I will not be ordering a copy LOL- PCPartPicker.com is a very helpful site if you are building a computer. It helps with matching compatible parts, reviews, price comparison and finding the cheapest vendor. And you can post a link to the list for others to comment on.
Hubby's computer he bought in December for around $1000 (price will vary over time). -->http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sZBsP6
And honestly, he could have gone for a lower wattage and cheaper PSU - @AxelTaylor01 @phoebebebe13 @chesterbigbird @ceejay402 @Stymie Now I am confused if I should buy that( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229626 )desktop because the olny games I play and will be playing are TS3 and TS4

I play on a high end laptop and I only play the sims 2, 3 and 4 on my computer. That computer we posted would be fine. Your biggest issue with specs would be the sims 3. That computer has a good video card, better than mine, it has 16 gb ram. Its perfect to last you longer and when your warranty is up you can change things in the desktop. Something I cant do on my laptop. If I did not have the laptop I would buy that desktop.for myself
