Happy Holidays Gift Exchange
Your Name: ADWilson, but please call me Addy
Your Holiday: Christmas. I live in FL so sometimes it is hard to feel the spirit when there isn't any snow because as you know, most images and movies indicate that Christmas should be white (it is so pretty!), but hubby & I try to make it as special for our teen as we can.
For several years, we have created/followed a tradition where we allow our teen to open one present a day leading up until Christmas Day itself because that gives her time to look at each gift and reflect upon it before setting it down & opening the next one. Having a more relaxed holiday at home helps because we travel throughout the holiday break to see various family members (different places & different days - family has gotten too large for a single gathering so we try to make time for everyone when we aren't doing the BIG gathering) and sometimes Christmas morning got a bit rushed as a result.
There are also two birthdays during this time (niece on the 23rd and our girl on the 27th) to add additional chaos to our family fun LOL
Content Owned: ALL EPs and SPs, plus the entire store content. I do NOT own the Dr. Pepper or T-Mobile promotional items.
What You Like: The Christmas Spirit... warm hearts and open smiles, the wonder that fills the eyes of children of all ages, surprises that reveal thoughtful gifts and affection towards the recipient, people being polite and showing common courtesy towards one another. Wish this lasted all year long!
Sim-wise, I like almost everything (please see the next item for more details) and would <3 anything that was made because of the time and effort my Holiday Buddy put into it. If you like making sims, then go for it. Same with pets or builds. Make something you'll enjoy that will challenge you a wee bit because learning something new is wonderful, but not stress you out too much so that you aren't enjoying yourself. Have fun, Buddy!
Favorite Colors: Different shades/hues of blue, green. purple. Silver. Warmer colors like pink, orange, yellow & red when used in moderation. Woods and neutral colors help balance things, but shouldn't be the main color scheme.
Worlds: I jump around depending on what type of game I wish to play. Feel free to build something that suits whatever world you're working in because I like the themes of most of the worlds. While they're fine in their own way, I tend NOT to play Midnight Hollow (too dark) or Isla Paradiso (lags too much, although I've noticed that ciane has a fix for this!). If making a build, I would prefer lots to be small to medium sized because I don't want it to take forever for them to get to work or fun (the Sunlit Tides Criminal HQ looks awesome but it takes forever to get to work & the Retreat is so far out of the way that I tend to forget it's even there). Also, I like to know where the build was created (address & world) because I like placing it exactly where it was intended so it doesn't require a lot of terrain sculpting to get it ready to play.
What You Don't Like: Rude people. Raisins. Strobe lights and smoke effects at concerts & other events. The smell of cigarette smoke <- makes me nauseous so I have to hold my breath when walking past someone who is smoking.
Sims-wise, CC ~ don't want it at all. The way items rotate in our studio because it bothers my eyes (I know this isn't something you can change, but it IS something I don't like). Loud, clashing colors and/or patterns on sims or in a build. The darkness of Midnight Hollow. I wear glasses and a lot of these things bother my eyesight.
I am also not a fan of modern/futuristic builds, nor am I a fan of builds that have so much stuff or are so large that it takes forever to render every time I try to use it.
Least Favorite Colors: Neon colors. Dark shades/hues. Black, white & grey only (these can be used as accent colors, just not the main color scheme).
Anything You Want To Add: Hopefully my letter made you smile and not cringe when you saw that I am the buddy you got. Relax, get creative & have fun with this holiday exchange, whether we share the same holiday or not. Looking forward to getting to know you through your gift to me.
