Welcome to the Legacy Challenge! I played one in Sims2, managed, somehow to get to the tenth generation, too. Not so lucky with Sims3. I had a terrible time trying to get my heiress to obtain her Aspiration of becoming a Gold Digger. This, after she deceitfully snagged the rich older man her auntie pined away for, too. After she gave birth to the potential heiress, she wanted to be rid of the old man. Problem is, Sims could climb out the sides of a pool. I'm not one who finds it easy to just 'off' my Sims, so trapping him in there with elaborate fencing was most disagreeable to me. I never experienced the 'Death by Flies' in Sims2, either, for the same reason. However, before I could resolve the problem, I fell terribly ill (catastrophic) and nearly died. I was in the hospital for a good three weeks and then spent two more in rehabilitation. It's rather frightening how quickly one's muscles atrophy when stuck in a bed.
Once I got home, I concentrated on finishing the little mini-series in my siggie. Then I attempted to go back to my game for some 'fun'. Not that writing the series wasn't fun, but you know what I mean. I was so out-of-touch with what was going on in my Legacy that I simply deleted it. I never did complete the Sims3 version.
I was very excited to learn that Pinstar (the originator of said Challenge) has also created rules for Sims 4. Yay! Had another 'false' start, and almost gave up entirely. About a year (almost to the date) I decided to give it another go. I really liked the backstory of my Founder and decided to just keep that part and play the game to see where it led. Not quite as exciting as the first, failed go-around, but I managed to make it to the end. Yay! As in the Sims2 version I experienced many 'firsts' in the game. We're talking alien abductions, (multiple, for awhile the family was plagued). first-ever born ingame triplets. It was fun. I've also got copies of the Legacy Challenge Rules for all three 2, 3 & 4. Interesting how things have changed from iteration to iteration.
