The Sims 3 Generations Teach To Drive interaction conflicting with the Base Game Preferred Vehicle?

In the Base Game, you can select a preferred vehicle for your Sim. It may be a bike or a car. Now, if you have Generations EP installed, then you may have the option to teach a Teen how to drive or request a lesson from an Adult. However, what I've found out is that there may be some conflict in that the Sim may teach/request how to drive, but the adult goes off in the preferred vehicle alone, not the teen.

I have already fixed this issue in-game by cloning the object (just so I can have the object with the same design/pattern on top) or buying the exact same object in Buy Mode. Now, my Sim can request/teach a Sim to drive, and both Sims will be in the vehicle.

Works like a charm.

Is this a known issue in the community?
