The Sims 3 Wont let me move to another house...why is this?

Hi: I'm guessing, but do you have enough money? Perhaps all the available empty homes are beyond your Sims budget?

In sims 3 you use the computer to move the Sims ingame, or use Edit town option under options.

That's interesting. I haven't seen that one yet either..

Hmmm... Move by phone, on the computer, I think the option even comes up on the paper...

But why grayed out? Hmmm...

Something has to be going on in their lives to have the game disallow moving..

Hmm, I haven't come across this problem myself but are you able to click on edit town from the option menu? If so, you could try clicking on your household in edit town then "save copy to library" followed by "household only" this way you can save your Sim to the library but they keep their skills, money and things in their bagpack.

As for you chrisbluemonkey, have you tried the reset sim method? Don't know it off the top of my head but I think it's easy enough to search for on google or something.

urghhhh this has just happened to me it's so irritating! Except I adopted a pet (in pets) but the social worker never came to give me the pet and now I can't do anything and I was going to edit my town :( So yeah when I try to 'move' it says I'm unable to move while I'm waiting for the social worker (even though it's been two sim days and she hasn't come).

I've tried like everything I can think of, resetting sims, resetting the whole town, putting one of my other pets up for adoption to lure the social worker round (lol that didn't work obviously). But yeah I think this is the same glitch as the dead sim glitch. I think I'm going to have to delete the whole town :( it's the only thing I can think of. If anyone has any suggestions please say so for future reference at least.

Oh... there is one other thing I can think of, is there a cheat to make the social worker appear? I found one that apparently made any service worker appear but it didn't work :(

I keep building houses for my sims to move into but when I go to move and try to click the house it wont work but if I go to any other pre-made houses that were already there it works fine >.< Help me out here.

I need help with this! I decided to move towns and my sims won't move! It says I

am traveling, so I can't edit town or save my game! Its so annoying and its been several days in sims time and NOTHING has changed! Please someone help!

The same thing is happening to me, i tried to move to another town or just move period but it says, "Your family is not allowed to move at this time" then I tried to go to edit town mode, but then it told me im not allowed to edit town or save while my sim is traveling, I'M NOT TRAVELNG! I don't know what to do! this all started when I played that file for the first time in months and then when t loaded it told me how I could now move to another town and I said yes but nothing happened so I went to main menu without saving but still nothing happened then it stopped popping out at all and now I can't move...HELP ME!!!!!! :( :(

For those who have "You cannot move while a social worker is removing a pet from your house" and you do not have a pet, the only way I have found around it is to uninstall Pets, start the Sims, and then reinstall Pets.
