This is from @MoonlightSaviour page: So, since I can't make a forum post, I'll say it here: I have no idea if it's a side effect of my mods or not, but my sim adopted 3 babies... And one of them was...
Hi @MoonlightSaviour, I will leave the technical advice for Igazor, but I can clear up some of the other things you mentioned.
You can't post images yet, since you are still a new member, once you've gotten full member status you'll be able to post pics. These new-member restrictions exist because of trolls/spammers infiltrating the forums. Here is a thread about that member/new member stuff.. member-or-new-member-everything-you-need-to-know and the off-topic forum might be helpful to get your post count up  .
Once you are a full member, the options to add images & links will show up in the toolbar above the posting box... thusly: https://i.imgur.com/ac3i4iU.png?1
You'll have to link to an image hosting site to post pics; I use Imgur personally, and Flickr is also popular with users here. Both Imgur & Flickr offer free image hosting & are quite reliable.
All you have to do is paste the direct link to the pic into into the tool, or, if you use Imgur, it has a "BB code" link option which already has the tags in it. ( I don't know what options Flickr offers)
The images with the "speed dial" you're describing are hosted at Photobucket, a pay hosting site, and the "upgrade" message that you're seeing pertains to the image posters' Photobucket accounts, not to people viewing the pictures. (so don't worry about upgrading anything)
Unfortunately Photobucket changed their policies recently,
From Wikipedia: "As of June 30, 2017, Photobucket dropped its free hosting service, and requires a US$99 annual subscription to allow external linking to all hosted images, or a US$399 annual subscription to allow the embedding of images on third-party websites, such as personal blogs and forums. This policy change, enacted with no advance notice, has been highly controversial. As a result, users who previously relied on Photobucket to freely host content embedded on forums, blogs, and websites must either pay the annual subscription (previously there was no charge), or switch to another 3rd party server and recreate every link (potentially thousands) for every photo previously linked to Photobucket."
so the "speed dial" thing does show up a lot, especially in older posts, and a lot of users with Photobucket accounts have been switching to other hosting sites.
Welcome to the forums & good luck
