Trouble bathing large dogs...

I only have one game with a large dog, collie and my sim bathes her in a cheap tub I CAS'ed with wood pattern and placed it in the yard. I've had no problems. :-)

How funny because I did just that as well. CAS'd a cheap porcelain tub, stuck it in the yard. But they still won't bathe her...

They are both friends with the dog but something just cancels the option. I have no idea why this is happening but it's driving me crazy. I finally just ctrl+alt+c testingcheatsenabled true and then shift+clicked the flea trait away. I am sure I will still have problems bathing the dog when she gets dirty though. =/

There is a hygeniator that will wash your dogs for you. You can controlling the dog have them use it. If your dog has enough lifetime points it is a lifetime wish item you can purchase using those points.

I use it all the time so don't have to fuss with my sims washing them.

The only problem placing a tub outdoor, even if it's redesigned which looks good, is that sims on free will would use ut, too? Or will they no longer take a bath unless it's in a room?

It could be because you need more space... something like this happens to me but its with the dog house. The 'try for puppies' option just gets canceled even though there's 'enough' space (4x4 space) but with the animation that goes with it the large dogs needed a little bit more room to move around before they go in.

In one of my games, my cat would spontaneously use the hygeniator. She was a frequent bather. :lol: I haven't made a dog yet, so can't say if the same might happen. Worth a try though.

My Sim was able to bathe her dog in the bathtub, but ended up getting soaking wet in the process. She got the "Soaked" moodlet and it took 2 hours for her to completely dry. :roll:

Is the tub by any chance Custom Content?

The reason I ask is that I had this problem myself. Even though I "fixed" all my CC for Pets so that my sims could use it (the animations, water, etc. all worked), the dog bath interaction would fail (just cancel out), but only with CC tubs. It also cancelled for giving the cat a bath. There was plenty of room around the tub, so that wasn't the problem. It was fine with EA tubs though, so I just had to replace it. (A shame, because that particular CC tub was perfect for my poor family living in the barn with the animals until they could afford to build their OWN house... :lol:)

I LOVE the idea for a hose outside to wash pets! :shock: That is genius! (It would be pretty cool if you could bathe horses with it too! After all, they get dirty too... :P ) I doubt they would add it in a later EP or SP (unless they put a hose in for something else, like watering plants or washing cars, and made it Pets-compatible), but they might do something like that in the Store as Premium content. I never buy Store stuff (I already spend too much hard-earned money on Sims! :P ), but I would use up my free points for something like that...

I heard there was some pet hygenator or something. does that help because I was trying to get it but it won't go on my sims game even though it says success when I download it!!
