Trouble with 'Sims 3 stopped working' and Error code 12s

My game is in a lot of trouble at the moment. Recently I had my sims over in China for a while. I had the aging and travel time off and things were going smoothly. But all of a sudden when I come back...

@igazor Mac is still like a million simoleons to get a larger SSD :p I see people in the Mac section with only 250 gb with a new Mac.
