Wall Speakers on Park Lots

I've been trying to tweak a "Wedding Park" I downloaded, but my game stall every time I return to edit town. I originally started in CAW/Edit In Game but then just left the lot, exported the world and tried to edit in a real game. I left it for half an hour once while I had supper and it still didn't get back to edit town. Lately, I've been trying smaller edits. These seem to be working. I think it may be because I've been replacing the ghetto boxes with 'Late Night' (I think they came with LN) wall speakers. Are the wall speakers causing the problem? Has anybody else tried using them in a park setting?
  • I believe the festival park in Sunset Valley uses them for the Spring festival. Ive never had any issues with that lot, even after making my own changes.

Which wall speakers? There are two types. One for community lots and one for inside houses. The white boxes are for houses. I've never tried to place them on a community lot. The community type are, I think, available in the Community objects you find in build mode (near the basement tool). They are white but wide and narrow with two round speakers that pump out the sound.
  • I've been using 'Public Sounds Stereo' (white ones) under the buyDebug "?/Misl. Objects" menu. I'd looked everywhere else in buy mode for them with no luck. Once I found them there, I didn't bother to check under Build Mode.

Ooops, I tried finding the ones in Build Mode. They were also white, which sort of confused me. I put 4 of them up in the Reception Hall and returned to Edit Town. Then I spent some time with Uncle John and 15 minutes later, the screen still reads "Loading...".

Does it load ok without any speakers?

I have not had any problems with other changes (so far) where I didn't add the speakers?

OK. So it must be something to do with the speakers. But did you test by removing the speakers and seeing if it will load? Just to find out if it has become corrupted.

For example, I had some CC hair in my game for about 2 years. I finally used it on a toddler. The game played p erfectly. I saved as with different name. Shut it down. Never could open that save again. Had to go back to the previous save. It turned out the hair was a problem.

So is it just possible something else already corrupted the save before you added the speakers and you didn't notice.
  • I've been cutting back on the number of edits. I now know it must have something to do with the speakers. I've tried just adding speakers, but I can't exit the lot to get back to Edit Town. Just adding the speakers, the program stalls andthe screen still reads "Loading..." for an extended time. I have to use Task Manager to close it. A reminder, it is a park lot, not a bar lot. Just for reference the lot I'm trying to modify is New B. Bay Wedding Park. It's is good for a wedding and a reception after. I often play with musicians and they can play at the reception as well.

As I said, I have not done much with parks. I usually call my lots for that sort of thing Hangouts. I can't find any pictures of my games with the speakers but the ones I'm talking about are usually found on Festival Lots if you have Seasons. Those lots are parks. I don't think it matters what sort of Community lot it is.

This pic shows the speakers on the Spring Festival Lot for Hidden Springs but it looks like they've been recoloured green. And they look a bit more square than I recall but that might just be from the recolouring.

They are at the top of the picture. If they are the speakers I think they are they will be attached to those two posts. But they could be some other sort of sound system. I haven't taken much notice of them.
