To be fair, it's not the intent of the message to entice us to remove EP/SP's from already established ongoing saved games as in many cases that would ruin them. They mean for us to consider doing so when starting up new games and then keep only the selected packs in play for those saves going forward. For those who manage multiple games at once, it would then instantly become a challenge to remember which packs should be in play for which games.
But as long as our computers can handle the packs we have installed, there is no need for all of us to seriously consider doing this. And, not all of us even routinely start up new games as we continue to push our years old ongoing saves along. :)
