Weird things happening...

So I have these Sims here and I'm at the Fall Festival. The teen daughter is talking to the ghost of her uncle, but here's an M. Night Shyamalan plot twist for you: he's not dead! On the family tree, his picture is colored in, still lists his job, partner, etc., things that aren't listed if they're dead. And, I never got a notification that he died either. Any idea what might have happened here?

    I think I've heard that going through the haunted house can leave sims looking like ghosts. Should go away in a few sim hours when the moodlet wears off.

    The Fall Festival usually has a haunted house on the lot which sims can tour. One of the possible outcomes of 'braving' the haunted house is the sim being turned into a ghost temporarily. If it was an active sim you'd see a moodlet with a timer. It only lasts a few hours.
