- I object to the elder stage beginning at 55! :D
- @donnabailey haha! sorry! The line between being an adult in their 50s vs an elder is pretty blurred for me...
- ah, but you're probably just a youngster yet. Honestly the one thing I've learned with getting older is that "old" is always 10 years older than you are now. Even if you're 70, probably. :#
- It's not set in stone and varies from player to player. For me:
Baby: 0-2
Toddler: 2-6
Kid: 6-12
Teen: 12-20
YA: 20-40
A: 40-60
E: 60+ - SimplyJen10 years agoSeasoned Ace

I guess this sounds about right to me. Elder @ 60 because where I live, that's the age you start getting a senior discount at places. :p

For me the toddlers begin one year earlier, you don't learn to walk when you're 2 :p - Emily433110 years agoSeasoned AceI always thought:
Baby: 0-2
Toddler: 3-5
Child: 6-12
Teen: 13-19
YA: 20-35
Adult: 36-59
Elder: 60+
And I, too, assume elder started at 60 due to senior discount prices' age requirement lol. I feel like the ages are a hard things to guess. Since sims don't age organically, they look the same throughout each life stage (as in - children look the same at the beginning as they do at the end in their child lifestage...even though children in real life would look drastically different between the ages of 6 and 12). So sometimes I'll do slight things to make it more organic. I'll have child sims dress and act more...teenager-y as they near their teenage years, have teens act more mature as they near young adulthood, have YAs dressing more conservatively (unless their personality doesn't make sense for it) as they near full adulthood, and I'll have my adult sims get a few grays in their hair as they near their elder years. - KevinL527510 years agoSeasoned AceSee this thread:
http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/881277/how-old/p1 - I pretty much agree with @Emily4331 , though I'd say that babies and toddlers really depends on the child, and I'd say that the end of "Teen" age and the beginning of "Young Adult" age depends on your jurisdiction.
Also means that I'll be having a "Midlife Crisis" in a few more weeks... - Emily433110 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lexers615 I actually find that the teen stage is the easiest to guess. It's pretty simple - if you're a teen, you're between the ages of 13 and 19. The only way I could see anyone changing that is that they consider 18 and 19 year olds "young adults", but they're still teens. It's in the name of their age, so technically speaking they're teenagers until they're 20.
Your midlife crisis comment, I assume, was made because you misunderstand my lifespan.
I assume you're turning 30 in a few weeks. That's not the middle of my guessed sims' lifespan. The elder stage starts at 60. Elder sims can die at any point in their lifestage, but my elder sims usually live into what I'll assume is their 80s. Maybe even 90s in really well taken care of sims. So the "middle age" of my sims would be the same as real life - anywhere between 40 and 50. Averaging at 45.
You'd think you would be happy with my placement if you're turning 30 - I just called you a young adult!
EDIT: And I called you a young adult for 5 more years! As they say, 30 is the new 20!
