What does "add the ability to add triggers and activated behaviours" mean and do!?

HIHI!

So my game is currently frozen (lol) and I got bored watching the load button load forever so I started aimlessly clicking around and some options popped up! First I just had it say something about enabling the camera to view it this way or that but then when I clicked on a bookshelf it said the same options but added "add the ability to add triggers and activated behaviours". What does that mean and what does it do?! I'm playing Sims 3.

Cheers!
Joe
  • Hello
Objects can be used to trigger events when Tomb building

    @rosemow

Sorry I have no idea what any of that means.

I am in Apaloosa Plains, or SUnset Valley I can't remember, anyway, what does 'trigger events' even mean?! What objects!?

    Hello
It would be best to ask your queries on a thread in the Sims 3 Discussions section of the forums. Simmers there who use those triggers when building will be able to answer questions that you have.

  • I'm afraid the answer doesn't help explain why your game is freezing or tell what you can do about it. But the command you are asking about is used (under normal operating conditions) to make objects trigger other actions such as one might do when designing a WA tomb. For example, a hole in the ground or wall might contain a switch that triggers a hidden door to be revealed when it is reached into and activated. Or removing a book from a bookcase might cause something else in the room to happen. The Trigger is the switch or action that causes something to happen. What actually does happen is the Activated Behavior.

Edit: From your other post, I see that you are not playing in a WA (World Adventures) world and, like most of us, you aren't going around designing your own tombs on a regular basis (no disrespect intended towards those who do, those things are very difficult to create well!). In that case, you will likely want to just ignore that command option for now.
  • @igazor THANK YOU!! That's awesome.

About my game freezing: I already know :P Im playing on a hilariously lame laptop. In fact, it ONLY has Sims on it! I had it erased and put the sims on so that it could play as clean as possible. hahah It has its kinks tho!

  • @rosemow OHHhh I wasn't aware that this was a sims 4 board. The discussions are organized in a bit of a confusing manner.

Also, how did I even access the option?

Please be aware that if you use sims jargon or tell me 'it activates behaviours' I have no idea what you mean :P I am still quite new at this and evrything needs to be explained.

    Hope you can help!

    Cheers!
