What kind of books do you write?

I was kind of interested to see what kind of books people wrote seeing as I have a Sim pursuing a Writing career.
My Sim wrote a children's book called "Where's my Sock?" a while ago so I thought it was time it was given a proper sequel...

Any funny stories or names you've used?

  • When I get stuck for title ideas, I use book title generators, song lyrics or poetry lines. Puns and idioms—or variations of them—work well for me too. I’ve also used odd phrases from Day Job Orchestra’s voice-overs, particularly ones from their Star Trek: TNG videos, most not suitable for this forum, lol. And I have a book series based on humorous phrases from Ze Frank’s True Facts vids.

For romance novels, I tend to use alliterative titles:
    Sweet Surrender
    Wicked Whispers
    Passion’s Promise
    Key to a Kiss

Some sci-fi titles my alien Sim wrote include:
    The Timeship Project
    The Telepathy Virus
    Inside the Black Sun
    The Moon Wars
    Vagabond Star

I once played a homeless Sim who wrote at the library when he wasn’t collecting stuff or dumpster diving—his name was Oscar, lol. He wrote stuff like:
    One Man’s Trash
    Garb-Age: Fashion For Hip Hobos
No One Tells Me Knock-Knock Jokes Anymore

Children’s Books, many are parodies continuing the Dr. Seuss theme:
One Llama, Two Llama, Red Llama, Blue Llama
There’s a Shrew in my Shoe
    Green Milk and Mush
    The Angora in the Fedora
The Angora in the Fedora Comes Back
How The Klepto Stole Snowflake Day
    Homework Kills Trees!
    Math, Solve Your Own Problems!

    Some humor novels have included:
    Broken Pencils Are Pointless
A Closed Mouth Gathers No Foot
    Karma Is Pronounced HAHAHA!
  • @starguru - I might have to borrow a couple of these. The titles I mean, not the actual books. A few of them would make pretty good names for sims' musical bands as well. :)
  • @igazor, @starguru I like the idea of a band called "Homework Kills Trees" Their first single could be "Go Flark Yourself, Teach". :D

Thank you, and feel free!

I enjoy coming up with band names too, and think One Man’s Trash could be a good possibility, lol. I also like giving interesting names to the unique custom drinks my mixologists make. I love that we have the option to personalize things like this in the game.

I dig it! I’ll bet their singles “Read Between the Lines (Study This!)” and “Wooden-faced Nuns with Rulers” spend time on the Hot 100 too, lol. I believe they’re from the “Paper Cut: A Tree’s Revenge” album.
